Plastic Shell, inner Printer
2022 | performance (15 min.)
The peformance is made with the costumes of the work Printer says NO! The performance was presented at the opening of Dancing with Trouble of Stimuleringsfonds during Dutch Design Week 2022. Also, the performance was presented at The Grey Space in the Middle during museumnacht.
The performance visualizes the connection of a printer with
a human. It is a magical interpretation of ERROR: the act of
disobeying a command. Who's in control?
Performance outlines:
Part 1: Printers stand lifeless in a space. During the performance the printers subtly start moving parts of their outer shell, slowly unfolding themselves. The minimal movements of these objects turn the printers into living creatures. The printers start exploring their surroundings in an animalistic way.

Part 2: After some time of exploring, incognito dansers
step - from the side of the audience - into the performance one
by one. They are holding a leash and clip the leash to a single
printer. When the printer tries to move away, the cord gets taut.
The danser will try to move the printer one direction and the
printer will try to move the other way. The tension will build up
and with some printers get violent, dragging the printer across
the floor.
